CONTRAINDICATIONS
Because hard evidence has yet to be obtained, these contraindications are based more on general caution — both medical and legal) than they are based on proof:
• Direct treatment of the open eye • Direct treatment over the fetus • Direct treatment over the thyroid gland • Treatment on persons with active cancers • Direct treatment of hemorrhage (uncontrolled bleeding) |
PRECAUTIONS
These situations are best dealt with in conjunction with a qualified health professional familiar with low level laser therapy:
• People with darkly pigmented skin
• Photosensitive people (skin highly sensitive to light or sunlight)
• Direct treatment of infected skin or wounds
• Direct treatment of the brachial plexus, sympathetic ganglia, and vagus nerve in people with heart disease
• People with epilepsy or who are prone to seizures
