Guidelines for Using Low Level Lasers
RESONATING vs. STIMULATING LOW LEVEL LASERS
Always use resonating lasers on muscles, organs, and glands. A resonating laser is a laser that puts out less than 5mW of power and is precisely regulated so the power density and frequency do not vary. If the power density and frequency are not stable, the body sets up polarization or impedance and will not allow the energy to pass into the body. Higher power stimulating lasers, such as those used by veterinarians and most foreign lasers, can be used on nerves, acupuncture points, bones, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.
Laser energy functions on a bell curve and maximum benefits result when the energy is kept on the incline side or at the peak of the bell curve. Using it too long can decrease the benefits, but not cause harm. Well made industrial and veterinary lasers are designed to automatically shut off in 3 minutes to eliminate the chance of overuse. Always use an accepted method of testing to determine how long to use the laser. For an example of one simple testing method, please see our “Circles” test later in this manual.
It just makes sense, if one knows what is causing a problem, to eliminate the cause first, and then treat the problem. The same goes when using a low level laser. As an example, if your finger were slammed in a car door, the Resonator or Rotary Multiplex would help the pain, but it makes the most sense to open the car door first. Considering the broad role that faulty dental proprioception plays in most disorders, it should be eliminated first.
For best results, ALWAYS REMEMBER TO ELIMINATE faulty proprioception to the brain first by:
| 1. |
Placing a tongue blade or Popsicle stick between the back teeth on the high shoulder side as a temporary procedure. |
| 2. |
For a longer-term benefit use Miracle Bite Tabs. These are self-made temporary dental splints, used to eliminate faulty dental proprioception and they can be worn at all times, except when eating. |
| 3. |
Next use either the Rotary Multiplex laser or the Resonator laser in the positions shown on the following pages. |
| 4. |
The laser industry has not, at least at this date, offered an industrial laser system that can eliminate faulty prorioception as efficiently as the computer controlled Resonator and Rotary Multiplex lasers manufactured by Low Level Lasers, Inc. These lasers are the only lasers in the marketplace that offer both computer-controlled frequency and power density features. This exact control of power density and frequency seems to be the main reason that faulty proprioception can be eliminated in minutes. (Low Level Lasers, Inc. manufactures lasers intended for industrial and veterinary use only, and makes no claims or representations regarding human use. |

Regardless of the location of the complaint, it is recommended that the user put either the Resonator or Rotary Multiplex on the following proprioceptive points for approximately the time it takes to take six deep complete breaths for each site.
| 1) |
Laser under the angle of the jaw (internal pterygoid muscle) on the high shoulder side of the body |
| 2) |
Laser over the temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) just in front of the ear (lateral pterygoid) |
| 3) |
Laser area just below the collar bone |
| 4) |
Laser the shoulder blade on the “high shoulder” side of the body |
| 5) |
Laser the area in the groin where the leg meets the torso on the “high shoulder” side of the body |
| 6) |
Laser the upper butt muscles on the area shown |
