Linsey Hurley
Linsey Hurley has had a lifelong passion for social justice, environmental and health issues and education. In college she worked at a student-run food coop and became involved with many political groups, the most notable being the “Solar Rollers,” a cross-country bicycle caravan devoted to educating people about nuclear power, its dangers, and the connection to nuclear weapons.
Ms. Hurley’s B.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in International Agricultural Economics was oriented towards becoming involved in third world agricultural sustainability. Her varied work experience includes: farm work and management, home health aide, doula (postpartum support for mothers), teaching, and political organizing. She has studied homeopathy, Bach Flower essences, and other alternative health modalities, all of which she uses regularly with her family, friends, neighbors and pets. Her determination to further the growth of healing methods was firmly reinforced when her younger sister died of breast cancer at the age of 31.
Ms. Hurley home schooled her children through high school, and is now back in the health field, working at Debra’s Natural Gourmet, an independent health food store in Concord, Massachusetts. She lives with her husband, two children and beloved pets in Acton, Massachusetts. |
