It is our pleasure to introduce ourselves to you. We are Linsey Hurley and Steven Hecht, founding partners of Healing Light Associates. We are good friends and we share a long-standing interest and passion for holistic health. Steven started studying natural healing in 1978 before entering chiropractic and naturopathic school; Linsey has raised her family using holistic practices for maintaining optimal health.
Our Beginnings (from Linsey):
I first found out about low level lasers from my dentist, Dr. Herbert Yolin, in Brookline, Massachusetts. He uses it to help balance the autonomic nervous system, as well as to help reduce pain and inflammation in oral procedures. One day Dr. Yolin replaced my cracked filling using only the laser as an anesthetic. As I drove home, I realized what an amazing thing had just happened. I had no after-effects from the laser and no discomfort from the procedure.
As I returned home I stopped in to visit Steve, who was recovering from a kidney transplant. The kidney was rejecting and Steve was not doing well. I told him about my experience with this new “laser” technology. Steve immediately began investigating. Later, he told me that he had rented one to use on his kidney. He said, “This is energy medicine Linsey, it makes complete sense!”
Two weeks later Steve’s kidney rejection ended. None of the expected damage to the kidney tissue from the rejection process had occurred! Although we couldn’t prove that the laser was solely responsible for this, we realized that the laser could have great potential as a healing tool and that it needed to reach more people. We spoke with Dr. Yolin who said he was looking for distributors for the laser. Two months later, Healing Light Associates was born.
